Wild Bees in Toronto – Identity, Diversity & How to Help: A talk by Scott MacIvor

Join NANPS on Wednesday March 13th, 2019 for an educational and enjoyable evening with Scott MacIvor, 7:00– 8:30pm, Wilson Hall, New College, University of Toronto, 40 Willcocks Street, Toronto, Ontario.(PLEASE NOTE, this location has been updated since this event was originally planned).

Scott will introduce us to common bee species of Toronto, their habitat, impacts on bees in cities, and how to create nesting opportunities for urban bees.

Scott MacIvor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough. He is interested in plants and pollinators in cities and more broadly, the biodiversity and ecosystem functioning of green infrastructure, including public and private gardens, parks, and green roofs. Scott collaborates nationally and internationally, as well, with the City of Toronto on a number of projects, including the ‘Bees of Toronto’ Biodiversity Series book, and the Pollinator Protection Strategy.
